“Such as did Massacra, Loudblast or Benighted in their eras, the new breed of French Death Metal, INSAIN (…), is rising
and is preparing us brutal tomorrows!” [Rock Hard – March 2012]
“Savage, stylish, brutal and visceral! Shout with me: “BUY OR DIE!” [VS Webzine – 16/20]
INSAIN started in 2007. After the recording of their debut demo, “Corpse before Death”, they entered the LB Lab studio to record their debut full-length, which then got mixed and mastered at the world famous Hertz studio (Vader, Decapitated, Hour Of Penance…), having the dark artwork and classy layout done courtesy of Xaay (Nile, Behemoth…).
Having toured France, Switzerland and Belgium in 2010 and 2011, the band sadly had to interrupt all live activity when Sangli, their insa(i)nely fast drummer, got hardly wounded during a violent car crash. He’s now trying to recover, not knowing when he’ll be able to handle such a fast, brutal and technical playing.
While waiting, INSAIN have started writing new tracks and recruited Benoit Peichert of Years Of Tyrants, The Bukkaker and (ex-) Darkall Slaves fame to handle the ultra brutal drums duty and will enter the studio on early 2013 to record a brand new MCD (still for Kaotoxin records) tentatively titled “Apex”.
Rare are the bands able to come with an album that's both brutal and catchy, technical and memorable, full of speed yet with atmosphere, displaying this level of musicianship yet able to captivate the listener from start to finish, And even more rare are the bands able to do this with their very first album. The album's "Spiritual Rebirth", the band's INSAIN.
Always intense, from start to finish, the album’s mixing catchy melodies from time to time with upper class technical parts that are never meant to be only somekind of musical show off, INSAIN is the kind of band that has a real talent for song-writing and each listen will bring something fresh to the listener’s attention. The first listen is like being rolled over by a train at full-speed while each further release will start to attract the listener’s attention with small yet brilliant technical details, melodic hooks, memorable choruses even with such intricate song structures and violent, yet controlled, playing. ALREADY A MUST!
